Airbnb turnover cleaning checklist for hosts
A turnover is more than a clean. It's a reset, so the next guest walks into a place that feels new. Use this checklist for every changeover.
Linens and towels
- Strip the beds and collect every towel, including the ones in odd places.
- Remake the beds with fresh linens.
- Lay out fresh towels the same way every time, so the place looks like your listing photos.
Kitchen
- Counters, sink and stovetop.
- Microwave, inside and out.
- Clear out anything guests left in the fridge.
- Run or empty the dishwasher and put everything back where guests expect it.
Bathrooms
- Toilet, tub or shower, sink and mirrors.
- Check floors and drains for hair.
- Restock toilet paper and soap.
Bedrooms and living areas
- Dust surfaces and wipe handles and switches.
- Vacuum and mop the floors.
- Check under beds and in drawers for anything left behind.
- Reset furniture and pillows to match your listing.
Restock
- Toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
- Dish soap and trash bags.
- Anything your listing promises, like coffee or tea.
Before you lock up
- Take out all the trash.
- Check for damage or missing items, and photograph anything you need to report.
- Set the thermostat and lights for arrival.
- Lock up, and change the door code between guests if you do.
